Today’s topic is hydro-jetting. We get a lot of people asking: “What exactly is hydro-jetting?
Just like it sounds: “Hydro” stands for water. This is a pulsating action of the actual water under pressure and there’s jets put out thin streams of water.
The benefit of a Hydro Jetter over an auger which would be a snake; is, the snake comes into the pipe and pokes a hole in to whatever is blocking the pipe.
So it could be paper, feminine products, it could roots. You can put a blade on the end of the auger as well and you can cut the roots and make it to where the water flows.
You can actually hear a noise, a burst when you clear the pipe. But what you haven’t done it clear the whole circumference of the pipe,
If you are looking for a deeper clean, you are looking for hydo-jetting, hydro-jetting scourers a 360 circumference of the entire pipe and cleans not just with the blockage is, but actually almost descales the pipe itself, giving it a bigger surface for the water to flow through the line.
Hydro-jetting is the next level above augering, commonly known as snaking. Hydo-jetting does cost more.
Keep in mind, you must snake first before hydro-jetting. You have to have a clear line, or else all that water pressure will back up and water will come out in areas you don’t want to.
