Two knobs are used to control sink faucets. One is hot, the other cold. Do you remember ever getting hot water from the faucet after the cold knob was turned off? You need to fix something.
REASONS HOT WATER IS OUT OF THE COLD FUCET
Too Close
If hot-water and cold water pipes are parallel as they lead to the faucets, it can alter the temperature of the water in those pipes. This can also happen if the water heater is too close or too far from the cold-water pipes. These pipes may need to be insulated in order to maintain a safe internal temperature.
Ventilation Ducts
Ventilation ducts can feel warm due to warm air moving through them in the winter months. The water in the cold-water pipes can touch the ventilation ducts and cause it to heat up. As the heating system is used more, this can cause further problems.
Faulty Thermostats
The thermostat of the immersion heater may be defective or broken. This will cause hot water to flow. The heated water will boil into the cold water tap after it has been overheated. The mixture of temperatures will cause all the water stored to be used to become warm.
