Everybody loves garbage disposals when they’re operating properly and it saves a lot of trips to the trashcan. There’s such a convenience.
Certain tips with your garbage disposal.
You wouldn’t want to put down rice. you wouldn’t wanna put down things that can get clogged in your garbage disposal. You certainly don’t wanna be putting a lot of grease down there. Most people do.
The benefit of having a garbage disposal is to remove that waste. As much as you can put in the trash, do so.
Use your garbage disposal when you can. However, often times, it’s not working. A simple hack would be to unclog or cause it to be unstuck, is an Allen wrench that comes usually with your garbage disposal.
It’s at the bottom of the machine and you can use the Allen wrench to unstick the garbage disposal, often times it’s just a small piece of something, rather that jams it up.
Shut the power off or the switch off to the garbage disposal. What my mom used to do is she would use a large broomstick, one that has a diameter that you see commonly in a commercial broom. Use a large broom you get it into the sink turn it and when it catches on the blades, you’ll feel it and then just give it a nudge and it’ll break loose the motor and cause it to be un-jammed, almost like magic.
